About Us

SofaCraft was established by John Sweet in Weston-super-Mare in 2007 to provide traditional hand-crafted furniture of superior quality and build.

John originally learnt his trade at Sheerpride Upholstery near Bitton in Bath and then moved to lounge and lounge in weston. He now builds all the same models to the same very high standards so John, Gordon, Bert and Colin can enjoy a well-deserved retirement in the knowledge their customers can still obtain the comfort and durability from their furniture!

Most current employees of SofaCraft originally worked at Lounge and Lounge in Weston-super-Mare. Due to retirement Lounge & Lounge re-branded as SofaCraft and relocated to their new site on Locking Road where we now work from our new showroom and workshops.

Making our Furniture

We continue to make furniture of the same exceptional standard. All our frames are made from kiln dried beech with dowelled screwed glued joints to ensure a rock solid base to your furniture that will last a lifetime.

We then use high grade springs and webbing to create a firm and robust seat and back platform on to which best grade felts, foam and fibre are applied.

Cushions are filled with a range of the best quality feather, foam or fibre in firm, medium, soft or supersoft depending on customer choice.
